One of the things that I found most interesting was studying the different types of plankton that we collected on the boats. We first went out in the boats to collect plankton samples. We collected two different types of plankton, Phyto and Zoo. We put these samples onto slides so that we could inspect them underneath a microscope. We then recorded what we saw. We then experimented with putting the two types together to elicit something more interesting to observe. It resulted in the Phyto plankton eating the zoo plankton, an entertaining scene to watch. I found this interesting because we got to go out in the boats and collect what we were going to inspect. I feel that it gave us a better understanding of the specimens. I also enjoyed being able to experiment in our own way.
Math
One of the situations where we collected data was when we were tasked with creating and conducting our own experiment in groups. My group's experiment was to find the speeds that anemones closed based on the temperature they were in. Below is a photo of our presentation and graph of the data we recorded.
In attempt to aid a more precise conclusion, next time I would try redoing the experiment multiple times with different sized anemones more times than before. This would be to get more information as to whether our hypothesis was supported more or less by our new conclusion.

Science
My research question: does the pattern of the tides change depending on the time of year?
Hypothesis: I think that that the tides will change; the tide should be higher for longer hours during the winter season. This is because of the gravitational pull of the moon and how there are less daylight hours in the winter.
To conduct a possible experiment, you could measure the depth of water near the shore multiple times a day dependant on the time of day and amount of daylight for a short span of days, in the peak of summer and winter. You could use those measurements to determine whether the information supported the hypothesis or not.
Independent Variables:
- Time you check the water
Dependant Variables:
- Weather
